Achievements in helping Filipinos

Since joining the House of Representatives in July 2022, Cong. Wilbert T. Lee has authored four laws that have been passed into law. These are:

Republic Act 11953 or the New Agrarian Reform Emancipation Act, which will benefit around 610,054 agrarian reform beneficiaries and condones all loans––including interests, penalties and surcharges incurred––extended from land awarded to them. The law covers an estimated 1.173 million hectares of land and condones PHP57.55 billion in unpaid amortizations.

Republic Act 11956 or the Tax Amnesty Act, a law that will benefit some 920,000 Filipino families who have unsettled estates, including 610,054 agrarian reform beneficiaries. Under the law, the Estate Tax Amnesty period will be extended to June 2025, and the period of deaths covered to May 2022. It also provides for electronic filing of estate tax amnesty applications, and limits the number of documents required for filing.

Republic Act 11958 or An Act Rationalizing the Disability Pension of Veterans, which will benefit veterans who are disabled due to sickness, disease, wounds, or injuries sustained in the line of duty. The law increases the monthly disability pensions for qualified veterans so these are now up to date with the current prices of goods and services.

Republic Act 11960 or the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Act which will benefit the country’s micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. The law is intended to empower communities to determine, develop, and promote products and services that are rooted in their culture, community resources, creativity, connection, and competitive advantage.
